At BJUP, gender empowerment is woven deeply into all our programs, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities, skills, and confidence of women. We empower marginalized women to access government schemes related to livelihood, health, nutrition, education, and skill development, ensuring they can claim their rightful benefits and opportunities.

We also provide technical support that enables women to actively participate in and engage with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) as well as government departments at the village, block, and district levels. This not only gives them a stronger sense of self-worth but also strengthens their ability to make informed decisions at both the household and community levels.

BJUP’s approach to women’s empowerment is comprehensive and strategic, addressing the systemic inequalities women face—particularly those from marginalized communities. We recognize that true empowerment goes beyond rhetoric; it requires tackling poverty, limited access to education, health disparities, and social exclusion head-on.

Our strategy of organizing women into their own institutions—such as Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs)—builds solidarity, fosters collective action, and creates powerful platforms where women can share experiences, uplift one another, and advocate for their rights.

Through these efforts, BJUP is not only breaking barriers but also building a foundation for lasting gender equity and women-led community development.

Moreover, BJUP prioritizes education on rights and entitlements, empowering women with the knowledge to advocate for themselves and challenge injustices. At the heart of our approach is the belief that women are powerful change agents. By equipping them with the right skills and awareness, we enable them to take a stand against pressing social issues such as gender discrimination, child marriage, human trafficking, and domestic violence within their communities.

Through soft skills development, financial literacy, vocational training, and entrepreneurship programs, BJUP not only enhances women’s employability but also nurtures their confidence, self-worth, and independence. This focus on practical empowerment ensures that women are not just passive beneficiaries but active participants in their own liberation and growth.

We also emphasize decision-making autonomy, both within households and communities. By equipping women with education, skills, and awareness, BJUP enables them to make informed choices that positively impact their own lives as well as those of their families. This autonomy is key to breaking cycles of dependency and fostering true agency.

So far, BJUP has empowered more than 2,000 adolescent girls and women through our initiatives. Together, we can reach many more. Let us join hands to make every woman self-reliant, self-confident, and self-dignified—empowered to stand her ground and shine in her efforts.

She Can Fly—Let’s Give Her the Sky!
