Program Overview 

The initiative by the Bihar School Examination Board(BSEB) in collaboration with HDFC Bank,CSR Parivartan to support the meritorious students from underprivileged sections of society is a critical step towards addressing disparities in higher education access and attainment. These students have demonstrated outstanding academic performance by ranking among the top scorers in their matriculation exams despite facing significant socio-economic challenges and limited resources. This project is designed to bridge the gap in educational opportunities for students from remote and extremely backward areas of Bihar, ensuring they have the necessary support to pursue higher education in prestigious technical institutes through JEE and NEET examinations. The initiative was implemented by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) in all 9 Commissionaires which includes Patna (Bakipore girls’ High school, Patna collegiate, shastri Nagar boys high school, shastri Nagar girls high school. The role of BJUP in the procurement of Smart Class equipment and study materials for the initiative by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is crucial in ensuring that meritorious students from underprivileged sections have the necessary tools and resources to succeed. BJUP supports the provision of essential resources, including smart class equipment, books, and study materials, which created an enabling environment for students aiming for higher education through exams like JEE and NEET and thereby promoting long-term socio-economic upliftment for students from remote and extremely backward areas of Bihar.

Approach:

1. Ensuring students from marginalized and rural communities have the same resources as their urban counterparts.

2.Identifying and supporting high-performing matriculation students who show strong academic promise.

3. Leveraging smart class infrastructure and digital learning tools to enhance comprehension and competitiveness.

4. Providing books, study materials, and guided preparation to strengthen their academic foundation.

5. Collaboration between BSEB, CSR partners, and implementation organizations like BJUP to maximize reach and impact.

Implementation:

• BJUP played a key role in the procurement and installation of smart class equipment in identified schools, enabling interactive, digital, and competitive exam–oriented learning.
• Alongside digital infrastructure, BJUP facilitated the distribution of books, guides, and study materials aligned to JEE and NEET curricula.
• The combination of smart classes and curated study resources provided an enriched learning environment, ensuring students had access to quality education tools otherwise unavailable in their communities.
• BSEB supervised the initiative to ensure uniform implementation across commissionaires, while BJUP ensured timely delivery and functionality of resources.

Marginalized communities achieve significant improvements in health, hygiene and environmental sustainability, leading to greater equity, dignity and long-term well-being.
