Program Overview
Building Atmosphere for Child’s Holistic Development Protection and Nurturing” or BACHPAN aims to protect and nurture children who have been separated from their families for various reasons, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment. This initiative includes a comprehensive package of support for vulnerable children in need.
Approach
- Orphan, semi-orphan, and children involved in rag picking or child labor require proper residential care.
- Enhancing social infrastructure for children through awareness-raising, training, and capacity-building workshops.
- Creating more opportunities for children to voice their concerns by engaging with administration, teachers, and the community during interface meetings.
Implementation:
Facilitating children’s enrollment in schools.
Conducting periodic meetings with child clubs, slum committees, guardian committees, local authorities, and elected representatives in the slums to support children in need of care and protection.
Providing parenting skills training to families of children in need of care and protection.
Supporting children and their families with tuition, education kits, and ration.
Linking children and their families with different government schemes and entitlements.
Marginalized communities achieve significant improvements in health, hygiene and environmental sustainability, leading to greater equity, dignity and long-term well-being.
