Program Overview
The SATHI Project (Banka) is designed to improve access to quality education in remote and underdeveloped areas of Bihar. With 56 government schools targeted, the project aims to bridge the digital divide by setting up smart classrooms equipped with solar-powered technology, ensuring uninterrupted access to e-learning. The initiative focuses on enhancing learning outcomes, reducing dropout rates, and preparing rural students with the necessary knowledge and skills for a digital future
Approach
1.Smart Infrastructure Setup – Smart TVs, solar panels, inverters, protective cabinets, and interactive digital software aligned with NCERT curriculum.
2.Teacher Capacity Building – Training teachers on digital pedagogy, interactive methods, troubleshooting, and use of multimedia content.
3.Community Engagement – Involving School Management Committees (SMCs) and parents to strengthen accountability, inclusivity, and sustainability.
4.Sustainability – Solar-powered systems to overcome electricity shortages and ensure long-term usage.
5.Monitoring & Evaluation – Regular school visits, feedback collection, and usage tracking for continuous improvement
Implementation
Regular monitoring, usage tracking, and feedback-based improvements
Installation of Smart TV (55-inch Android) with sliding-door cabinets allowing dual use (TV & white/green board).
Solar panel (160 W) with inverter (600 W) and battery (100 W) for uninterrupted learning.
ISI-marked copper wiring and modular switchboards for safe electrical setup.
Deployment of interactive e-learning software (aligned with Bihar Board/NCERT).
Training of teachers in digital pedagogy and troubleshooting.
Orientation and training of SMCs and parent groups.
Marginalized communities achieve significant improvements in health, hygiene and environmental sustainability, leading to greater equity, dignity and long-term well-being.
